London baby!!

I realized today that I will be on my way to London in 33 days...soooo excited! My first trip out of the country to one of my top hoped for destinations and I'm just....(to sound redundant) excited! I've seen pics of the place we're going to be staying and it's GORGEOUS! Only thing I would change is who I'm going with--since it's for a class it's not exactly like I really know anyone going but maybe this is a chance to make new friends? Hopefully :) We get so much free time and I am just STOKED to go be a tourist. My family isn't big on vacations so the only time I've had the opportunity to do so was when I went L.A. five years ago for a broadcasting convention. And then we really didn't do a lot of site-seeing.

For the time being though, I'm off to dinner then homework before I shut my brain off for the evening.

Queen and J. Timberlake

My iTunes in a move of hilarious brilliance just went from Queen's "I'm Going Slightly Mad" to J. Timberlake's "Future Sex/Love Sounds." If you heard it you would think it's funny too, trust me.

On another note, I'm currently regretting getting my master's in history and kinda wish i would have gone with english instead. FML. if anyone has any idea on how to explain post-structuralism in a way i could understand please help a sista out before my brain explodes.

seriously, it's getting dangerously close.

Uncle Charles

Apparantly my Uncle Charles is about to give up in his fight with cancer. It's getting really depressing. He won't eat, refuses a feeding tube, and is planning his funeral with my Aunt Betty. This sucks.

Prayers would be much appreciated--I do believe in miracles.

I <3 Jen Lancaster

I was checking some sites, avoiding reading for my night class and decided that since I LOVE Jen Lancaster, I'll do what she did on her site yesterday. Basically I'm going through my iPod randomly and explaining why I'm such a huge nerd and have the songs I do. Here we go!

Kiss/Rock and Roll All Nite(Live)--I don't care what anyone says, Kiss rocks. They're fun to drive and rock out to. I also secretly love the movie Detroit Rock City.

Relient K/This Week the Trend--I went through a weird phase with Relient K. I listened to this album A LOT mainly because it's good and clever. I still listen to it quite a bit. Songs pop up on the iPod a lot.

Sweeny Todd Soundtrack/God That's Good!-- Great movie--it's dark and twisted. This song is when you get to see all the people eat the human meat pies.

3OH!3/Still Around--This song sounds completely different from the rest of the album. It's mellow and emo-like while the rest of the songs consist of rapping about weird, yet hilarious, stuff.

Sara Bareilles/Love Song--I first heard this on a rhapsody commercial and loved it. I finally had to go out and buy her whole album and it's fantastic. I love how this song is so defiant (it was supposedly Sara giving a middle finger to her record company).

Grace Potter & Bethany Joy Galeotti/ I Want Something That I Want--I came across this on iTunes and had heard it in a One Tree Hill episode. I just have a thing for acoustic stuff.

The Bravery/Rites of Spring--I used to listen to this album all the time. The Bravery is great live and when I saw them they had only sold probably 1/3 of the tickets so we got really close. Lots of energy and tons of fun.

Evanescence/Going Under--When I was a Junior in high school I listened to this all the time. Me and my ghetto Oldsmobile Cutlass. Good times.

All-American Rejects/Stab My Back--Not my favorite song on Move Along but can still be pretty fun. When I worked at McD's we would sing It Ends Tonight at the top of our lungs just to piss off our GM.

Paramore/Crushcrushcrush--I just love Paramore. They're great live even if it's a big outdoor tour and a lot of their fans suck at life. They're just fun to jam to.

Kings of Leon/Closer--I've recently come to LOVE Kings of Leon on Only By the Night. I don't care much for some of their other stuff but that's what you face with some artists I guess. This song is interesting and I love how it builds intensity. I drive to this cd a lot.

Michael Jackson/Dirty Diana--Before Jackson was a total kid toucher/creeper. It's on his best of album and I think most of the stuff after the early 90s was craptastic but I like this song--especially the guitar. Freakin' sweet.

Maroon 5 feat. Rihanna/If I Never See Your Face Again--I find this song to be ridiculously sexy. It was the main reason I bought their album (which is actually really good and full of sexual innuendos). Plus Rihanna is hot.

Panic! At the Disco/I Write Sins Not Tragedies--I will ALWAYS think of everyone singing this in the bar as well as people I am no longer friends with. Kind of bittersweet for me.

The Moffatts/I Don't Want You to Want Me--I was really bummed when I found out this was the last album The Moffatts put out, they were just started to get into better music but got pegged as a boy band (though they weren't). Too Bad, their stuff was good.

Josh Groban/You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)--Josh Groban is on my list of people to marry because he's just that amazing. This song was my ringtone for my old phone and is one of the best songs on Awake.

pretty sure I'm freakin' awesome!

Got the Britain test back today and TOTALLY got an A! Barely but still--considering I completely confused a couple of things and only included 3 of the 8 "requirements" for industrialization in my essay, I'd say that's pretty good. And to top it all off, I ran into my other professor today and he basically said I was awesome. Let's face it--I really am :) and now I'm sounding like an arrogant asshat. Moving on...

Briana left today and I'm a little bummed. On the one hand it's nice to have my space back to the way I'm used to but on the other, I really enjoyed her company. We nerded out yesterday and spent part of the afternoon in the library doing homework. We were going to go to the WWI museum Saturday but it SNOWED a ridiculous amount and the roads were too bad to attempt a trip into KC. Although, later in the day we decided to go shopping and the roads were ok--not great by any standards--but I went slow so all was well. Friday we went to the wheelchair basketball game and it was great. They had a little boy who was in a wheelchair play with the KC Thunder and the girls LOVED him--it was super cute. It was also pretty funny listening my brother bug Bri with questions about her school since it's backed by AG. I just stayed out of it.

The next three weekends are going to be ridiculous. I'm judging for my old high school for their debate/forensics districts. Upside: money, downside: my weekend is gone. But all this money is going to my London trip so it'll be worth it :)

I think it's time for a power nap and then get some reading done so I might actually be able to read something other than a textbook for a change. Later gaters.

sleepytime???

I. Am. Exhausted. And sadly, it's not time for Stephanie to sleep for a billion years. Total bummer.

My test went...well...we'll see. I don't want to jinx it and I know I had a couple of problems with the ID section. I had a feeling I should've taken a closer look at stuff that wasn't in my essay. Not cool Tenbus. Not cool. At least the test is over now.

I just need to get through my class tonight and of course, like always, I put a ridiculous amount of pressure on myself. I kind of wish I was presenting tonight instead of last week since I would definitely get all my participation points without talking about anything else and without having to read the next two chapters in the book before six. Well, let's be honest, I'm not going to get that boring crap read. Is it May yet?

I'm seriously SO ready for the semester to be over. I'm ready for London, my internship, and moving back home where I'm happy as opposed to how miserable I am right now.

Briana's coming tomorrow which is exciting but I do have to work tomorrow so I can take Monday off to hang out with her. I'm pretty lucky with my job like that :)

So now it's off to read about dead historians post Norman era. At least, I think that's the era. Does it really matter? Truthfully? Not at all.
